I agree, so much better than last year! Does this mean MCPS will decide earlier too? It seemed awful late last year when they finally voted on the 23-24 calendar, although there was also the issue of the earlier start, which isn’t the case this time.

Those earlier November days are where MCPS used to schedule parent-teacher conferences. Then they moved them to the Thanksgiving week a few years ago. I guess they are contemplating moving them back now.

Ew! Why would anyone want 2 early release days on random days in November? Why can’t we just have one real school day and then take the rest of the week if Thanksgiving off?

I think it is better for the kids to have an earlier break. The stretch from President's Day to Spring Break is awfully long.
