Yes, have done it, and would do it again. Same with plays, museums, historic sites, etc. I've been married forever and we share a love of all these things but sometimes I go solo and so does DH -- he just went to a concert on his own recently. I once took a long weekend and flew to London alone, just to see plays I wanted to see -- it was fantastic to be totally solo, going to museums etc. all day long and seeing plays every night and some afternoons as well. I love doing all this with my DH, I just found it fun to do solo too. Planning to go to my first Comic Con-type fan convention this fall and that'll be solo since my DH doesn't follow the same shows I do. Go for it, OP.

I usually love doing things alone. I see movies and plays alone all the time. But I was miserable when I went to a U2 concert alone. I just felt awkward and weird. Ended up leaving early. It might have been better if I'd been down on the floor, but I was up in like the 300-level seats at FedEx. I won't do it again.

I did in grad school (late 90’s). I was a huge Yes fan and had the opportunity to see them in Detroit. No one else wanted to go, so I went myself. Soooooo glad I did. Made friends with an older couple sitting next to me and had a blast.

I have not yet, but plan to if no one else I know wants to. Life is too short.

I have gone to a concert by myself and enjoyed it. It's fine. OP, try it and if being alone bothers you to the point where you don't enjoy the show, you can leave and never have to do it again.

I haven’t because I’m not really into them, but my sister flew to another town to see her favorite band by herself. It was a music fest, so she hung out for two days and had a great time.

I go to movies, museums, and dinner by myself. I’m now planning solo travel because DH doesn’t want to go on a trip I’m dying to take. Go for it!

Yup I went to one in July. Was supposed to go with a friend but an hour before meeting up her mom was rushed to the hospital with a stroke. I had a blast and im not the type that ever enjoyed doing things solo. I would absolutely do it again.

One of my closest friends is someone I met via Reddit because we were both going to a concert solo and wanted to meet with others. We hit it off and now we've been to many more concerts and get togethers

I would go (and have gone alone)

I'd go alone to a classical music concert. Or a piano recital/performance. Or to a concert by Adele. Why ? Because I would get lost in the music & wouldn't pay attention to my companion anyway.

And going alone is pretty liberating- you can be there just to enjoy the experience for you. As a mom, I spend a lot of time taking care of and doing things for others- when I go alone to a show, movie or museum, it’s just for me time.

Yes - after the past 3 years, I no longer want to miss experiencing the things that bring me joy (live music, dancing and movies). I like going with people too but if DH or friends don’t want to go, I just go solo.

The other thread got me thinking about how there have been times I've wanted to go to a concert that none of my friends were interested in. I've thought about going by myself but never follow through. Has anyone here attended a concert alone? If so, how was it? If not and you had the chance, would you do it?
