When it first came out in lattes it didn’t taste like chemicals which it does now. Pumpkin beer also tastes worse that 20 years ago and also comes out way too early.

No, cucumbers are the devil's work. Pumpkin spice is as innocuous as water.

I enjoy pumpkin spice flavors year round. Love a good pumpkin loaf (and lots of places, including gate Capital of Pumpkin Spiceland, Starbucks, serve it year round).

I think pumpkin spice coffee is weird, though. It tastes good in actual pumpkin things -- bread and pies. It's a nice profile for a sweet baked good. That's where it should stay.

Though I do think the scent of pumpkin spice, I really associate with October and November. Doesn't everyone? Smells like pumpkin pie baking. What's not to like?

I hate putting it out too early. August is hot, it's a flavor for cooler days. I'm not eating a pumpkin pie in August either. Other than that, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves are tasty. They're flavors that American cooking uses for recipes with pumpkin (mostly pie, but also pumpkin bread). That's a good enough reason to use it and to call it "pumpkin spice" (i.e. the spice mixture you use for pumpkin)

Yeah, I think when it first came out, it was “pumpkin pie spice,” which is actually a thing. Pumpkin spice is silly.

Pumpkin stuff should not be promoted in August. Ideally, it would come out October 1, but if people really have to, at least wait until after Labor Day to start promoting.

I'm super glad stores are coming up with other fall flavors to promote instead of pumpkin.
