My parents are in Ruskin. Looks like this will hit north, so maybe not quite as worried.

Hello from a nervous nellie in St Pete - we brought in all our yard stuff and are now just waiting and hoping!

Nervously riding it out in Sarasota, about five miles inland so not in a flood zone. I left for Ian but am staying for Idalia. Forecast now looks like we will be okay but I know it could shift east and we could be in for a Ft. Myers beach experience.

I am up in the panhandle, west of the cone (near Destin). I gassed up last night just in case things turn. After I got home I read on line about bad gas being sent to gas stations in Florida. That was unnerving. I mean, the first thing you do if a hurricane is coming is that you gas up your cars. I had to google for a while to learn that it only affected a couple dozen gas stations in the Tampa area.

Well, this is looking...not good...

Got gas yesterday-thankfully not contaminated gas! Grocery store was insane except for the fresh fruit and veggies section. Will bring in my folks' yard stuff after work, checked their meds to see if they have enough for next several days (they are elderly), thankfully I had recently cleaned both theirs and my gutters. I'll be staying with them probably Tuesday night (looks like) as I will not leave them alone for a storm like this.

Grateful to live inland enough where not in flood zone. The surge predictions with this are a little scary. I tend to think that some people are thinking, oh it will turn like Ian did-but this storm's track is such that if it does make a right turn, it could hit a much more populated area (not discounting what happened to Ft Myers, but really there is much less population there than in Tampa Bay).

Hey my fellow Floridians and others following along on this ride!

Northern Tampa Bay resident here. Spending my Sunday afternoon in the cone of uncertainty, reading Denis Phillips facebook updates and thinking about sandbags (got some from Ian still).

Really though, I'm feeling like this one could be unpleasant. But it's too early to tell and lots can still change.
