Ok if they stand a bit away from the bus stop and are 100% under control (if big) or if they are tiny little things that are leashed. Most kids love dogs but some are scared, and that is not a good way to start their day.

Bus stop is fine as long as the dog is well-behaved. School pick-up is a different story--too much going on and too many people.

I guess I am a grinch. I am a dog person and I hate it.

Most people's dogs aren't as well-behaved as they think, and they end up wrestling around where kids and adults are trying to stand. I got jumped on and muddy in the rain this morning. Bah humbug!

I live close to a school bus stop and sometimes walk my dog past it. Pupper LOVES the attention and its a good opportunity to make him sit/stay and for kids to be gentle and introduced to animals.

It often ends up adding a lot of time to the walk so I try to avoid it if I can though!!

The same way I always do- I'm not a dog person and won't pay them any attention but I think it's cute how happy they make some kids. Bus stop is a totally appropriate place for a leashed dog, no matter the size (assuming the dog has a normal temperament)

It’s a great way to socialize your dog and also for children to get used to dogs. I think this all depends on the owner though. We always brought our puppy, but I was very careful that if there was a smaller child, I was down on my puppies level, holding her in sit in case she got too excited with the young child. Adults that let their dogs jump up on kids – big no-no!

How do you feel about dogs at an elementary school bus stop? Does the size of the dog influence how you feel?
