Pick a better fight. When teachers complain about simple requirements like signing in, putting in a leave slip, being to work on time, you sound either entitled or incompetent. It’s also a big hypocrisy that the teachers who are terrible or whiny about basic job requirements are the first to complain about children or teenagers not doing everything exactly as they ask.

It’s an organizational necessity to know if you are in the building if someone is looking for you and can’t find you. Same with signing out/in at lunch. At one school I was at, someone got in a car accident at lunch and didn’t return. When the teacher wasn’t in their next class, the main office figured out they were in the hospital.
