Yeah move the other person's kid to the class without real teachers. It's the only fair thing to do.

My HS has teachers for every class. I can’t imagine not having a teacher for important content classes like algebra and Spanish. If your child has any learning issues, I’d ask the school to move to classes with actual teachers.

My high schooler has an unassigned teacher for homeroom only, but actual teachers for all other classes. We'll take it!

Ugh - Algebra and Spanish - both classes that require content expertise and the ability to teach that content.
