My husband likes it sweet, but I grew up eating it as a "healthy" snack with just some pepper on it (or in lasagna as a ricotta sub). These recipes sound interesting, but I'm still stuck in savory mode lol.

I like cottage cheese in lasagna, but my husband didn’t, preferring ricotta. So, whenever I made lasagna, I made 2: ricotta gor him and cottage cheese for me. The kids could have whichever they wanted. I like the extra tang and texture from cottage cheese, ricotta just seems too bland.

Someone posted a couple days ago about cottage cheese “ice cream.” I haven’t tried it yet but it sounds ok!

^^ I didn't say "healthy" - I said healthier. I don't see my family forgoing treats altogether, but I can make it have more nutrients, etc.

As for cottage cheese, that is one ingredient I have never worked with and am curious about other people's experience.

There is nothing magically healthy about cottage cheese, so if you’re trying to improve your health game if we know what you’re going for we can provide some. Yogurt - based recipes will probably work better and have better texture and mouth-feel.

If you really need to use up cottage cheese you have, you can also Google recipes for Farmers Cheese and those should work.

Treats made with less processed ingredients than what you get in store-bought treats - aka, no more Oreos, etc. Making our own treats where I can put less sugar in than recipes call for. High protein, fiber, less sugar, but no stevia/monk fruit, just less sugar and less refined.

Haven't tried yet

Cottage cheese bark

2 cups (16 oz) cottage cheese
2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
2 tbsp peanut butter
3 tbsp chocolate chips
3 tbsp granola

Blend the cottage cheese, honey and peanut butter until smooth. Pour mixture onto a parchment lined backing sheet and spread evenly. Melt chocolate chips and add teaspoon sized dollops onto the cottage cheese mixture. Use a knife to swirl around (or you can just drizzle). Sprinkle on granola.

Place in freezer for about three hours or until the mixture is firm. Cut or break into pieces. Store leftover bark in a freezer bag for up to three months.

I don’t have a specific recipe, but I once had blintzes filled with cottage cheese that were delicious. I don’t know that they were particularly healthy, though.

NP, if you don't have anything to offer, zip it, please. Why are people so unnecessarily UNhelpful?

I made these a couple of weeks ago and loved them.

Looking for ways to make our families desserts healthier (or at least less unhealthy). Which ones have you tried and really enjoyed? Looking for chocolate, muffins, cookies, etc.
