Try hanging cloth organizers on the back of a wall. We had a Rubbermaid bin at home for library books, and then overstuffed bookcases. You can put some in boxes somewhere, and then rotate them out in a few months. We kept a bag in the car, too.

This is what we do. And every now and then I move the books around when I think we're missing some that have gotten lost in the bookcase. We have way too many, but I like reading and so do my kids. I try to thin them out here and there. They do end up all over the floor, but such is life.

A sling bookcase is a really easy way throw lots of books onto easy-to-reach shelves. They are surprisingly sturdy.

I have a child but also work in an elementary school library, so the picture books are out of control. I also have a dust allergy.

So far I have a forward facing bookcase and the rest are placed on normal shelves, but I hate cleaning with so many books around. Any tips for you cleaning or organizing experts? I was thinking maybe magazine file folders, but I think picture books are larger than magazines so may not fit in the holders. Bins get heavy.
