Most of the time, yes. It's dinner, drinks, and dancing with my spouse and we're all dressed up! But I enjoy friend weddings more than family - less to navigate.

Sometimes. It all depends on who else is there and how well it's planned. The last one we went to was in a small location on two different floors. Food etc on one floor, dancing on the other. A lot of people left early.

Weddings for friends and relatively close family? Yes, absolutely fun, especially if I can get away with having no role.

As the +1 for another family where the only person I know is my partner, absolutely not, but I'll still do it to support (and drink a lot).

Not really. Weddings are overrated. Should be simple affairs with your closest family and friends and nothing more. I also don't really need to witness it. The dinner afterwards is all that is necessary.

The last wedding I went to was a cheaply catered event with overly salty food, cash bar, and cover music (like Kids Bop but for adults—it was bizarre.) It couldn’t end soon enough and I was so happy when we could use the excuse that we had to relieve our sitter!

But I’ve also recently dropped cash on a fabulous destination wedding and had a blast. Before that I attended a wedding that took place in a serene location and the reception was held in an opulent location, wonderfully catered with excellent themed drinks. I was sad when both of those ended!

No. Even when they are nice, I just don’t enjoy them.

It's been awhile but yes i've always really enjoyed them, extra bonus if someone i'm close to but fine if some random cousin of DH, they almost always are parties with a fun vibe

At 40, not really. I can’t explain why, exactly. I would just rather spend my time in other ways. And before you attack me, I eloped! I do enjoy more casual weddings/receptions, but some feel so stuffy and like a waste of precious weekend time.
