Hopefully this is a troll, but right now I would not call any public school "a tremendous experience," and HBW is no exception. It's better than others but I don't think any school offers all kids some grand education and environment.

Well, I’m not a troll and I’m sorry but you’re wrong. Here’s the thing: you are in no position to judge whether a kid who you never met has a “tremendous experience” anywhere. You’re not God. You know that, right?

I think it's fine to say your kids had a tremendous experience but why do you have to be snarky and add "jealous" to those who were not fortunate enough to win the lottery?

This makes me think you're a troll and not actually a parent with kids at HB.

Signed,

an actual HB parent

So much for a random lottery.

Op here - that’s great! I only posted the question out of curiosity, not because I really believe we’ve got a shot. No hard feelings or anything. My kid is all prepped to go to our neighborhood school and he has probably forgotten we ever entered him into the lottery. Still, it would be fun to get in!

Well no but since your kids aren't there anymore and everything changed a lot after the pandemic I'm going to say your kids' experiences aren't relevant to whether or not OP should be jealous. Of course you are kind of a jerk so your kids probably lied to you anyway.

You just moved the goal posts. We weren’t talking about whether OP should be jealous. We were talking about whether you are in any position to assess whether any kid who you don’t know can have a “tremendous experience” in any school. And you’re not. You’re not at all. Like the rest of humanity, your reach is limited.
