OP, do you have your inspection sticker? If so, that’s all the evidence you need.

Dealing with this myself. Manage to get someone on the phone calling 202-729-7125 -- who read to me what THEY have as my inspection history (which did not match my records). But at least a starting point to understand what they think situation is.

The DMV also hasn’t been complying with the requirement, written in the actual law / DC Code, to issue reminder notices and tons of people have been getting late inspection fees as a result. If you can’t resolve it on your own your council member may be able to intervene on your behalf.

That sounds Kafkaesque. But yeah, you'll need to go to Half Street and deal with it.

Fortunately, the processing desk at Half Street is very efficient and you shouldn't need to wait in the inspection line. Just grab street parking and go talk to them at the desk. Bring EVERYTHING.

Time to renew my car registration in DC. Trying to determine why DC is charging me a $480 late fee for failure to get my car inspected 2 years ago, when I did, in fact, get it inspected at that time. The DMV is unhelpful, saying that registration people can't see whether I am correct. My only option is to go back down to Half Street, to the Inspection Station to get an inspection history. It's not available online or over the phone.

Anyone else have this problem?
