This would require having coaches (you know, those volunteer parents) identified far enough ahead of time that they could divvy up practice fields/locations in time to communicate all of that on the website and then deal with the inevitable over-registration for some teams based on schedule. At the scale of MSI that’s just not going to happen.

I’m with PPs… it’s rec soccer. I’ve had two kids go through rec soccer at the same time (not even both msi) and we made it work. Sometimes Larlo had to hitch a ride with a teammate but sometimes the teammate needed to hitch a ride with us! Since rec teams are location based (unless you specifically request another team/coach) it’s really nbd.

If you absolutely must know ahead of time, i9 might be a good option at that age. Have also done i9 leagues, very convenient as practice is directly before the game, and they are always same date/time. Works for younger ages / more introductory type teams

It’s rec soccer. We did it up until last year and let our DD pick and choose what games she wanted to do. If it conflicted with an activity, we let her choose. Ultimately, she choose soccer over other activities and now she’s playing club soccer.

When I said "change their practices," I meant change their procedures. Bad choice of words. Anyway, the deadline to request practice field permits was like 10 days ago and coaches only learned about assignments/schedules yesterday. Registration has been open for several months.

You missed the first part about not knowing when or where practices are. I agree it's NBD to miss a game or two, but with 3 kids I'm not registering for something without knowing when and where my kid needs to be to participate.

Then you don't belong in soccer. Even SAM has the games at different times.

I have 3 kids. 2 played MSI rec when they were little. It was never a real issue because teams are usually school-based. So the practices were close and my kids could carpool.

You don't find out your practice time/location until you're already registered, so for families with existing obligations (or other children), that's one hugely significant issue. The other issue is you have to keep almost your entire Saturday clear all season. Again not workable for families with more than 1 kid who value their sanity.

I don’t understand this. It’s an hour tops of your weekend. The schedule helps you plan ahead. If you have a conflict, it’s ok. It’s rec soccer. It’s a really nice low-key program that focuses on fun.

Mostly on Saturdays, occasional rain out could be rescheduled for Sunday. Starts usually at 9, and goes from there (9:30, 10, 10:30, etc.), through early afternoon, maybe 2:00 or 2:30? The schedules usually come out 2 weeks before they start, so I'm guessing Monday. We've had 3 kids go through MSI

We’re brand new to MSI. DD will be on a 1st grade rec team.

We have our practice day/time.

What time will games usually be? Are they always on Saturdays?
