I did not even know they could tell us this so early in the season, but I, unlike the rest of my family, am thrilled. If you had asked me a year ago if I wanted to switch I would have said no, but after the way I saw the tuckahoe swimmers treat other teams this year I want nothing more than to leave. In my opinion, TRC did not only cheat at ASR (by having a swimmer participate for this meet and the one against CST that didnt even live in VA anymore) but they were proud of it too. I saw overlee cheering for other teams at ASR (specifically OKM) and the way they were at the dual meet even after losing to us. OVL may not be perfect, but they are miles ahead of TRC and even CST. My children are refusing to leave because they have friends on Tuckahoe and they seem to have a passionate hatred for OVL (even though every time we visit in august they have a great time and hang out with other swimmers on the OVL team). All the families at OVL have been so nice to us and our children, but I have read the posts about all of the division 1 teams and I really don't feel like it is as bad as it is portrayed. I plan to switch to doing the full summer at OVL, they are young, so they will make new friends and honestly will barely remember their time at TRC, but does that make me controlling? I post this to ask for advice or a warning- please give some incite.
A swimmer can live in Maryland as long as they are on the team. What do you mean by CST?
I am a team rep and there were rumors that a few division one teams were gaming their relay line ups (intentional last minute subs to win) and there were whispers that somehow a few figured out how to sub out more than one swimmer on some of their teams. I would assume that would be the division coordinator turning a blind eye or not paying attention. It could be possible if you flood the table with last minute scratches all at once.
