Buy the sheafs of handwriting paper (with the colored lines) at a school supply store or online. Great for practicing!

Zaner Bloser handwriting workbooks are great. They aren’t free, but they’re inexpensive.

For us, Handwriting Without Tears was too difficult to implement; there just didn't seem to be enough for the instructor for us to understand what we were doing. (Both us and our children may be worse than usual.) However, "Cursive First" was absolutely amazeballs. Instructions were very clear, and while you do need to buy the (very inexpensive) program, you can photocopy as many of the sheets as you like.

Definitely get the HWT workbook are work through that first (you can make copies of it if they don't have a digital version). It is well worth the 10 or 15 dollars. You do not need the teacher manual or any of the manipulatives (big letters, Mat Man, etc.)

Then, after they have a sense of letter formation, you can make supplemental worksheets:

New homeschooling mom here (of a 6.5yo). I wanted to have my child practice handwriting and I'm quickly realizing that some worksheets would be useful. Does anyone know of any good free resources?
