What kind of flaws show on window trim and baseboards though? It's wood, it's not like it's a plaster wall...genuinely curious. The reality is I have white throughout, there's a ton of trim and I had to decide whether to do a crisp white earlier on when other rooms were painted. I have a tight color palette but again some strong color (light pink dining room, navy family room) so the white unifies. I get your concern I just don't want to complicate trim color further. The look is crisp, I get that muted may be more on trend and or softer. I just don't want to pivot now when these rooms are joined to the others. But I hear you.

Agree with both suggestions. We've used 50% pigment many times, depending on the color it reads white, but settles in perfectly. We were in the habit of using BM 925 Ivory, for trim, but it might be wrong with your paint color.

What if you did the BM Feather Grey at 50%? Then white trim in satin finish, and then walls in Cotton Balls in eggshell finish.





One of the best 'tricks of the trade' that we learned from our favorite designer years ago was to paint the ceiling in pearl at 50% of the wall color and the trim in a bright white with a satin finish. Since your wall color is basically white, you will be using the adjacent wall color on your ceiling.

Op one more time...the room faces the front porch, which I had newly painted with a haint blue on the ceiling (sw atmospheric). I only have shutters on the bottom of the window so you do see the porch ceiling color if you look outward. I don't think these rooms all need to match but I woukd like to avoid big clashes. My painter recommended a very sheer green but I'm not that into it..

Op again...I could put feather gray on the ceiling but would rather not match it exactly. I also do like a classic light tiffany blue/robins egg blue
