I would concur with this sentiment up until this new school year.
My child was a model student and loved/praised by everyone. They were excited to start MS and did wonderful academically with ALL As, including a 600 in Algebra I SOL.
I still don’t know if some specific thing happen to derail it all, but starting at the end of 2nd quarter my child began hating school and getting “sick” snd calling us to pick they up earlier.
Child began exercising dangerous behavior such as skipping school (leaving on their own accord) to go hang out in the South Lakes SC, hanging out with riff raff and, ultimately, vaping THC IN school bathrooms.
I’m NOT blaming the school entirely, but it seemed to me there was some sort of blasé and nonplussed attitude by school officials as they took no responsibility at all for what was going on in school grounds.
THAT said, they have a new principal now and so far, it seems he is pretty strict and holds a tight rein on the employees AND students.
Students are no longer able to roam freely and do whatever…
