The middle school choir teachers tend to move around between schools as they often have to cover 2 different schools to get a full schedule.

If they are able to get into one of the schools that has a full classload, they tend to jump on it.

They often try to get their feet wet in middle school, then jump into a high school position if they are lucky. The high school choir programs tend to have a full load of courses, and some of the most dedicated students, so those positions are very desirable for teachers and open rarely.

Chances are that she moved up in her job, or quit.

Sounds disingenuous when the first thing you tell us is that she had an attendance problem and insinuate it’s a performance issue.

I understand your curiosity. That is not abnormal. However, I would drop it. If it is a happy reason for the teacher, one of the other teachers may share it with the kids.
But, it would be inappropriate for you to write and ask. Again, I understand being curious, but it would not be right to write her.

Think through this.

"Hi Teacher, We noticed you're not at the school. What happened? You were late a lot. Write back. Love, Karen"

Or were you going to try to think up a reason to email her and just wing it, hoping it'll...what...bounce back? That gives you no more info than she is out of the county. If it doesn't, she's still in the county or it hasn't been turned off yet. But you have no more information.

Just let it go. Teachers come and go for a lot of reasons, none of which you or I are entitled to.
