We turned traffic enforcement over to cameras because equity or something. Drunk and stoned drivers are thrilled.

How is it inequitable? What gives POCs the right or the excuse to drive recklessly?

inequality and past injustice

I saw a cop pull someone over for failure to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk by Lincoln Park the other day. Cop was pretty pissed and rightful so.

1. They should immediately pull over any car that has fake plates. There's no way to mail a ticket to someone with a non-existent plate. They should also immediately impound any parked car they see with fake plates on it.

2. They should immediately boot any car with 3 or more outstanding tickets for dangerous behavior - speeding, red lights, etc. If they have 6 or more they should also be impounded.

3. If they can't immediately pull the more dangerous and reckless drivers over, they should use a database of where and when the plate readers ping to find their patterns of behavior and use that as a way to catch them.

As for what to do with the impounded vehicles, give them 3 months to show up, make restitution and get in compliance before they can get their car back - if they don't do that, put their car on the auction block.

And don't @ me saying "that's racist" because being black or poor doesn't give anyone an excuse or a right to speed, run red lights and drive dangerously.

I would literally high five a cop if I got pulled over. I see people committing all manner of dangerous and illegal activity all the time in front of the cops and they do nothing.

I have never seen a cop pull someone over for breaking the law and I see it soooooo much. If I was a cop I'd never get anywhere because I'd be constantly pulling people over.

Are people more likely to steal cars owned by dangerous drivers?
