I've had the same cell number for over 20 years, back to my first little Nokia.
Nice for you. But don't assume that everyone who does this is "weird" and has "a lot of drama." Sometimes drama gets pushed on you when you don't want it, PP. Clearly you've never had a vindictive or stalkerish ex, or a mentally ill relative with zero boundaries, or had your identity stolen. Or both. So don't jump in and judge; you don't always know why someone changes numbers, and the reason might be one they never asked for or wanted at all.
I've had both.
Again, if this has repeatedly happened to you and you've needed to change your phone number more than once.. YOU are the common denominator, and you are the drama llama.

Same here, and now that I have to worry about not only losing my low-digit number, but also my 202 area code you'd have to pry my number out of my cold dead hands.
