It can be more like a higher end consignment store. Plenty of stuff NWT and vintage or high end.

Good stock photo, find the original description from the retailer (I can usually trace it back in my email receipt. Most retailers keep the link alive), be realistic about the quality, Say why you are selling it. I'll usually say if it's too boxy, or short, or long or whatever for me. Look for recent actual sales and price it just a hair above that so that you can offer 10% off and be realistic.
I had a closet of Rebecca Taylor, DVF, Theory, Ted Baker, Reiss, LK Bennett level stuff with some Treasure and Bond, Anthro stuff. I started in Jan of last year and have had about 6500 in sales. I've for the most part turned my closet over from lots and lots of blue based stuff to more warm colors so I really cleaned house but I used the money to buy more current things in colors that are better for me.

I think buyers are especially ruthless and disrespectful with low offers on Poshmark because many listings give the illusion of a college-aged girl who threw a dress on a hanger, took a poorly lit photo hanging on top of her robe in the dorm bathroom and then listed it. No condition description, no measurements and they can’t be bothered to answer questions. eBay is for adults.

Brands, it is all about brands and even then, certain styles won’t sell. If you are actively looking for stock at thrifts you need to pay close attention to what similar styles of that brand (if not the exact dress) actually sold for- NOT price sellers are “asking” or listing. Gowns and ulta short minis are a tough sell unless they are luxe brands like Zimmerman. Google image search is your friend because dress could easily be all over internet on sale or used from Rent the Runway with poor reviews. XS is not as good as a medium and above.

If you are trying to sell from your own closet, be super realistic about pricing. Consider most consignment shops that buy outright will pay in the $2-4 range for a cute INC (from Macy’s) piece and keep your prices low.

If a skirt or dress has pockets, say so!

Measurements, good photos, photos of the original retail listing if you can find it, good key words

As a buyer, I want measurements in inches. On tops, I want to know the pit-to-put and the length. The shoulder seam is another good one. I do not buy pants on Poshmark.
