What's the matter with the views from Ocean City MD? There's plenty of high rise hotels and the ocean is the same ocean, isn't it?

These are all great suggestions so far. I'm going to look at them. Any ideas outside of the US in the Caribbean?

+1 for this part of Florida. There are lots of condo buildings (VRs) and hotels right on the beach.

Any recommendations for hotels either in the DC area (or DE beaches) or anyplace within about a 3-4 hour flight with amazing beachfront/waterfront views from the balconies? This would be in September or October.

I'm a mom looking to do a solo trip for up to 3 nights, where I basically just want to sit on a balcony overlooking the water, sip coffee or wine, and read a book, listen to podcasts, get yummy takeout, etc. Most critical part is overlooking water--it's my happy place.

Last time, I went on a cruise and just sat in the adult area, on the balcony, and on the beach for 3 days, looking at water and relaxing. I don't really want to do a cruise again so looking for hotel recs.

Places I've thought about so far Residence Inn Bethany Beach b/c it would be local; Destin/30A/Rosemary Beach; Key West; Grand Cayman, etc. We are already scheduled to go on a family trip to Aruba in November, but there won't be much relaxing there b/c DH will be at work meetings while I'm taking with our four kids.
