It’s fish and rice. You’re a nut.

Take your blood sugar after eating the sugary rice. You’ll be horrified.

If you're not on a diet or limiting certain food items, then yes - it's healthy. I agree that a salmon, avocado, and cucumber roll is great. If you actually picked out all the rice and put it in a pile, it would not be a lot.

In general, fish, rice, and veggies is a healthy meal, especially compared to a standard american diet. Saying that it is unhealthy is wild to me. Like other PPs have emphasized, you can do things to *make* it unhealthy, but that's true for anything.

If you are a middle aged woman cutting carbs because of a sensitivity (of which there are many on this board), then no - sushi is not a good option for you. But other than that, it's fine. Just be moderate.

As other have said, spicy mayo, tempura, and fried rolls are not great. Probably cream cheese (philly rolls) not great.

But a salmon, avocado, and cucumber roll? Awesome.

Carbs are not unhealthy.

dp.. the rice is cooked with a type of sweetened vinegar, and the soy sauce has a lot of salt. We have made sushi at home. I always feel bloated after I eat sushi, so I try to limit the amount of rice I eat.

It’s great I think if you limit your servings and if you pair it with a salad or crudite for more fiber. That helps you feel full and balances the rice.

Depends on what you’re eating. Sashimi, yes. Tempura roll covered in spicy Mayo, not really.

Sashimi is healthy and delicious. And you can mix in some nigiri and a simple roll.

Ordering more traditional sushi, and less of the Americanized rolls that have fried foods, and mayo and other less healthy ingredients.

Get a mix of sushi and sashimi so you have less rice.

Consider asking for brown rice if that's an option.

Add non-tempura vegetables like edamame, or salad in a restaurant, or if you're getting delivery steaming some veggies to go with it at home.

You forgot starting with a warm bowl of miso. That really blunts the hunger.

Eh, not terrible but also not great. You'd be better off with an poke bowl, less carbs more protein. But if you love sushi and eat it every once in a while, go for it.
