I agree it’s not a great combo.

However, I love corn on the cob with a burger (usually turkey or veggie) and that has a bun, which is a carb analogous to the pizza crust. That just seems like a good summer meal.

No. Corn is not a good side dish for pizza. I serve pizza with a green salad.

I will always eat fresh and in season corn on the cob. I will never eat corn on the cob out of season. So if the corn came from the farmer's market or farm stand today, yes, it goes with everything. If you got it from the freezer at Safeway, absolutely not.

It’s an odd choice for pizza. I probably wouldn’t put those two together, unless I was doing a use up all our leftovers sort of dinner.

I make a veggi pizza and put home roasted corn (from the cob) on top of it along with a bunch of other stuff.

It's a little strange, but so am I, so yes it could go. Just declare it a finger-food meal, and go with pizza, corn, garlic knots, and then berries for dessert. All finger foods.

Corn on the cob isn't my first choice with a main dish that has a lot of carbs incorporated. I don't serve it with pizza, or with pasta, or with something like paella or jambalaya or risotto.

The exception would be if I was serving a group that included a lot of kids and I knew they really liked corn on the cob.

No. Ewwww!!! Salad, raw veggies, cooked green veggies all ok. Not a carby corn on the cob!

Also wouldn't taste great with other italian dishes, IMO, like any red pasta, eggplant parm, etc.

Help me settle a debate: is corn-on-the-cob an appropriate side for a pizza dinner?

If yes, can you name a main dish for which corn-on-the-cob is not a good side dish?
