Who needs laws?
Maybe it will help if you think of the pregnant person as merely an incubator/womb for the baby US citizen, rather than as an actual person?
So giving out huge wads of cash to baby mamas here illegally and who have little means to support a family because they earn such little money.
Yay. Truly a fantastic idea that won't bring down the state even more. Ha yea right. Subsidization of illegal immigration and encouraging poverty.
Fast track to a 3rd world country.

I was gonna say... I thought Rs were pro-life? What is more pro-life than providing medical care to pregnant women and their babies?

I've been very busy this summer and just found out about this legislation that came into effect July 1st.
https://www.marylandmatters.org/2022/05/26/with-healthy-babies-equity-act-maryland-will-join-other-states-that-provide-prenatal-care-regardless-of-immigration-status/

So if you illegally enter the United States, Maryland legislators think MD tax payers should pick up your medical bill. If you are a hard working, life long MD resident who lives on 45k/year - you are on your own. Got it.
Has there ever been an organization that has played local governments like a fiddle as CASA has before? I can't think of one in my 50+ years of living in DC/MD.
