I was just going to say that response cards are a relatively recent development (you're supposed to write a response in the third person, just if you ever time travel back to some WASP wedding in the 1950s, you're welcome), so I don't know why this is so shocking to you.
It reminds me of people who complain about The Youth using "I'm like" to mean "I said" when their generation used "I go" to mean "I said." Which innovations are OK, and why?
