What Italian place isn’t vegetarian friendly?

They can't really accommodate larger parties though.

I find it funny when places ban kids under X age but are happy to let obnoxious drunk business men, wasted bachelorettes, or the boisterous Bro culture gang go unchecked.

Do they eat cheese with rennet? I wouldn't do an Italian place if not.

Rasika doesn't allow kids under 8 at the moment and two of the grandkids in the party are 7, so that rules it out.

I've got Officina at the Wharf as a possibility. Any other suggestions for an upscale Italian restaurant that's also vegetarian friendly? We'll also have people joining from out of town, so bonus if it's in a pretty location in DC.

Thanks!

Are they checking birth certificates?

They might ask the kids directly how old they are + you cannot ask the kids to lie.

I thought if you get the private room, they will let you take a younger child. Given your party size, I would do that. It’s not that much more expensive than eating there.

Another veggie friendly option is Zaytinya. My Indian vegetarian family loves that and their website makes it seem like they value larger parties and can accommodate a lot.

Not necessarily all upscale, but for Italian:
The Red Hen
Little Coco's
Centrolina
Filomena

Any Italian restaurant should have plenty of vegetarian dishes unless they are the reddit type of vegetarian who worries about parmesan cheese. Various pizzas, pastas, risotto, panini, eggplant parm, soups, appetizers...
