I echo what other PPs have said. If this is a case of domestic abuse, there are aid organizations.

What jurisdiction? Legal aid does family law if you meet their income requirements. DC has a self help center if the divorce is straight forward.

If domestic violence is involved there are non profits that you can search for and many law schools have domestic violence project groups that will provide free legal advice too.
