We clear the table off for dinner, then homework goes back on the table after the kids finish cleaning the table after dinner. It’s a good way to teach kids how to clean and take care of things.

We mainly use the dining table to do hw. To clear the table, we put stuff in a roller cart; for the laptop we use a portable laptop table.

We have two tables. One in the kitchen that we use mostly for homework, games, etc. We eat at the kitchen counter or at a second table in yhe dining/living room.

My kids work at the kitchen table, it’s not an issue to move their stuff for dinner.

Yes. In our living room. We just have a small kitchen table setup, size of a card table. We also use it for things like board games and Legos. If you want it to take up less space you could look into those desks that hang from the wall and fold up for storage.

We only allow screens in common areas, and for complicated reasons (including a child w special needs so relaxing this is not an option), our kids have to do homework in the kitchen. This is not convenient because we also have family dinner almost every night and it’s a process to clear the table mid-homework and then set back up again if we need to.
Does anyone have a homework station or kid’s desk in a corner of the kitchen/great room where you can always see the computer screen?
I want to do this, but I’m worried it will feel too cramped or feel odd to have another chair and table. Suggestions?
