I don't find destination weddings offensive because I assume the couples are trying to keep it small and intimate and this is their way to do that. The people who are mad are probably the people they are trying to weed out LOL.

No +1 weddings - bad!
No-kids weddings - sad.
Destination weddings - annoying but whatever.
Dry weddings - fine.
No open bar weddings - fine.
Weddings of couples who ask for cash - I appreciate this and prefer to just give cash.

I don’t drink. I’m 55 and have been married for 25 years. But thinking back to my cash strapped days of early 20s, I’d decline to go to a wedding alone and to give cash only.

No kids? I expressed no kids at our wedding and all complied NBD. If you can’t go without your DC, then rsvp no. Same w/ destination weddings - I declined.

My ranking, from most offensive to least offensive:

Dry weddings - Don't make your issues with alcohol, everyone else's issue.

No open bar weddings - Don't be cheap. At least offer 2 drinks, then make it a cash bar

Weddings of couples who ask for cash - dunno why but this just feels tacky. It's really no different than making a gift registry, but for some reason making it "cash" feels....eh

No +1 weddings - weddings are expensive. So unless this is someone you've been dating for a while please don't bring someone. but if this is someone serious a +1 would be nice.

No-kids weddings - No issue with this. Kids distract from the event, and they take their parents attention away from the festivities.

Destination weddings -who cares it's their wedding you're not required to attend.

From worst to least:

Destination weddings - I don't want to go to this effort for you.
No-kids weddings - I don't even have kids, but weddings should be for families.
No +1 weddings - I get not wanting randoms at the wedding, but this is inconvenient.
No open bar weddings - Tacky and cheap.
Dry weddings - I don't drink, so I don't care, but this seems cheap and tacky and would make me wonder if you have issues with alcohol.
Weddings of couples who ask for cash - I'm giving cash anyway. It's tacky to ask though.

A wedding should be about celebrating with people who you care about, not a princess party with a beach backdrop or a cash grab. Elope, if you want to make things hard for your guests.

And if you don't want to go to a wedding... don't! I get that some people need a drink to help them get through, but they should just RSVP "no" if it's really going to be uncomfortable.

This can be applied to destination weddings too. It's an invitation not a summons.

At the two cash bar weddings I've attended, I was caught off guard and didn't have cash on hand.

No +1 weddings (I'm not going to your wedding alone. Nope.)
Weddings of couples who ask for cash (I was raised to find this very tacky)
Destination weddings (It's too much to ask of most, and a PITA for everyone)
No open bar weddings (If you are going to invite people to a party, you pay for the food/drink, period)

Doesn't bother me:
Dry weddings
No-kids weddings (I don't like kids at weddings anyway)

Dry is the worst because you can get out of a destination, but a dry wedding is harder to duck and it’s just miserable. Cash bars are a close second
