Posting from south Florida here.... yes this is fine. It's a little casual with the fabric, but the length is helpful. As others said, many if not most will be cocktail length. You'll be fine. I'd wear it with a super flashy vintage costume jewelry gold/diamond necklace i have, to elevate the fabric a bit.

It’s ugly, OP. Don’t do it.

I don't think the color is the problem.

Maybe more like this:

I like OP's better

I think depends on how bold of a personality OP is. Only she knows if she can carry that dress with the right sort of confidence. If so, go for it.

We’ll I certainly would not look confident in that ruffle dress haha I’m not that personality. The other one feels kind of unremarkable! Interesting that this is splitting the fashion experts of dcum. I feel like since the wedding is in Florida that the colors are more acceptable but maybe I’m making that up!

You should look elegant, not scrappy.

Wear it. I think it is ugly, though. But, I hate the one shoulder look on any dress.

For black tie optional I think its fine. There will likely still be people in cocktail dresses, maybe a few in gowns. You'd be right in the middle and imo fine.

No,it has too much of a vacation vibe. The material is not what you would want to wear for this kind of occasion.

I would not. The combination of length and fabric (cotton) make it too casual. It looks like a daytime wedding dress to me (or date night).

I don't see why not.
