I lived in one of the WW2 rental buildings around there and really liked the area. Close to Custis trail and enjoyed the little shops. I left right before they converted the 7-11 to the Italian Store. You do need a car, would commute in from Ballston. AFAIK my old building is still there but my former landlord is making bank as he started selling a few of his buildings

Move a few blocks to the north to Halls Hill/Highview Park and watch the white developers buy houses from the few remaining black residents so that they can tear them down and build $1.3 Million Missing Middle townhouses for white law firm associates. The second "M" in "MM" should really be inverted to read: "MW" -- for Arlington -- Make Whiter.

We live in the area and really love it. Kids walk to school / library / ice cream shop together. We see friends and neighbors everywhere we walk. There's lots of nice mature trees around. It's the suburbs with the added bonus of being able to walk for coffee/ice cream/pizza/beer.

It’s a nice area - not really walkable to much like other parts of Arlington closer to metro.

If you want to be car dependent you can live anywhere for a lot less.

Lacey Woods is the Park, Lacey Forest is the neighborhood that abuts Westover Village. All the other neighborhoods you mentioned are farther away from Westover Village than Lacey Forest.

Do you mean the Westover neighborhood in Arlington? Those of us that live in Westover and the surrounding civic associations including Tara Leeway Overlee, Madison Manor, Dominion Hills and even stretching into Lacey Woods love it.

It's a vibrant little area a block or two long but is a gathering point for the community between the restaurants, the farmer's market, the library and mainstays like Ayers Hardware and Toby's Ice Cream. Village Sweet has amazing homemade baked goods and is a great place to meet a friend for coffee. Westover Beer Garden is a family friendly spot for lunch or dinner with live music and a tilt a bit more towards a bar atmosphere later in the evening.

There are more and more new builds popping up among the original housing stock so housing prices and sizes vary widely. Schools are solid. It's about a mile to the metro, so it's walkable but not something I would personally do daily without showing up at work all sweaty and gross. Metro bus is an option, though.

Any thoughts on this little community? Schools appear to be good and there seem to be a few things that are walkable. It also seems close to the metro.
