We are dairy and soy free due to DC's allergies. Avoiding hidden dairy is the biggest PITA. Learning all the "code" words for dairy will help (e.g. caramel coloring may be derived from a dairy source).

Almost all store bought breads contain dairy and or soy. We buy rice bread or make our own.

Almond and rice milk are generally safe - make sure you read the labels
Coconut milk (So Delicious brand) is also a good alternative. That same brand also makes yogurt, coffee creamer, and a lot of desserts. There is a dairy/soy free "butter" made by Earth Balance which is pretty good. They also make a coconut spread. Coconut oil (extra-virgin, cold-pressed) can also be used for cooking.

We buy deli meats at Whole Foods - we get the Applegate Farms brand and haven't had a problem with them. They also make breakfast sausage.

I like this site for finding recipes based on food allergies:

Bumping this because I was just told I needed to cut dairy out of my diet. Doctor also said no soy just in case. I forgot to ask her about almond or rice milk. Doe anyone know if these are okay? TIA.

I'm dairy free too, because DD is allergic and I'm lactose intolerant. Beware of hidden dairy (basically any casein) in processed foods, especially. I avoid most processed foods to sidestep the issue.

Also, many cold cuts may contain dairy byproducts. I found this article helpful.

I am BFing my 4 month old and am going off dairy to see if my baby is sensitive. Anyone have quick and easy dairy free meal suggestions, especially for lunch and dinner?
