Where does everyone live? Or especially the most cost-sensitive folks? We have had lots of fun with our kids in:

Also, the hotels around both Disney parks that have good pool areas are actually pretty fun and not as expensive as you might think. We have gone for 1-2 days and otherwise have just had pool days.

Dorado was great but definitely going to drop $15k per family. The smallest one bed rooms are over a thousand a night and not an all inclusive. Food is expensive. But agree it is beautiful.

Since the point is family being together and you don't need any distractions, how about a nice rental house that could fit (most) everyone?

-Outer Banks, NC -very affordable & nice most of the year.
-Out west- Colorado, Park City, etc
- Various parts of Florida (Panhandle- Seaside, Santa Rosa, Destin, etc) or Naples area
- Maine in the summer (several coastal towns-Kennebunks, Camden, Boothbay Harbor...just do it in advance)

We did a multi-family each self pay at this place near Hendersonville NC.

Breakfast was included. For dinner, each family took a night and choose a restaurant in their budget. There were about 20 of us, including kids as young as 7 up to grandparents.

I agree. I would look into Amelia Island, FL. Easy to fly to, beautiful, close to St. Augustine. Mix of luxury (Ritz) but also other options as well!

We’ve rented houses in Mexico, Costa Rica, and Puerto Rico for this. Ex-US will be cheaper but not easy to adjust for differences in budget.

Rent a house in Casa de Campo in the DOminican Republic. It will come with a chef, and lots of staff.

SunRiver, Oregon has both a lodge and homes to rent…miles of bike paths, old fashioned ice cream parlor, golf, swimming pools, etc.

Just go to Florida. There is absolutely no godly reason to a) drag this many people to Hawaii, and b) spend the money on a Hawaiian vacation to be with extended family including non mobile grandparents. Grandma can’t walk far and wants a beach and everyone to pay their way = go the cheap, easy route. Save Hawaii for when your family can do the trip right without 15 random family members with mobility issues tagging along.

Oh- forgot to add, price is a factor (hence the comment about each family paying — some differences in financial situations)

Grandparents (who are not super mobile) have asked for an extended family vacation (each family pays their own way; let’s not go down a rabbit hole on whether this is a reasonable request of not).

Grandkids will range from 3-15. Families are spread across the US so there’s no clear place that’s more convenient; several groups are uninterested in a cruise.

Is there a resort anyone has been to that they would recommend for a group of 15ish with a wide range of kids? Or even just a location? I was thinking Hawaii but maybe something more like the FDR in Jamaica (I’ve never been but the nanny could be nice for the family with young kids). It probably needs to be a beach to make grandma happy.
