I was thinking about buying a Volvo, but the panoramic window only has a mesh shade covering it (unlike the full cover in the BMW). Every time I go to the dermatologist they burn stuff off my face, and I have thin hair, so it's a concern. Well, after researching it, I've found out that side car windows have little to no UV protection and that BMW's were actually terrible. On a Mercedes forum someone said that when they tested the UV protection of the pan roof it was less than what Mercedes claimed (99.5%, which is what Volvo claims). However, it does look like you can actually get it to 99.5% by doing it yourself.
Has anyone got a place they can recommend in the DMV to add a ceramic tint for UV protection on the side windows and panoramic window? Looking for little tint and would like them to actually test it before and after, so a place that's really helpful. Willing to drive anywhere.
AND, if you have the Volvo with the panoramic window, is the mesh screen enough to cut the glare and heat? I like the Volvos much better than the new BMWs.
Thanks!
