Our HS had to ban this several years ago. Not just delivery services, but parents delivering lunch too. Prior to the ban, they were receiving deliveries of over 150 carryout lunches PER DAY.

This is bananas. We are raising a generation totally dependent on take out and convenience foods.

UMC are not spending $20 a day on lunch for kids. Wealthy parents are.

Different HS teacher here. Sometimes they are so brazen that they ask to use the restroom and come back a couple of minutes later with their Starbucks delivery.

Yeah, this was going on at my kid’s high school. Administrators quickly shut it down.

You didn’t. My kid forgot her lunch a few times last year. The first time I quickly added money to MySchoolBucks. She didn’t even try to buy and was fine waiting until she got home. The money was there for any other times she forgot.

Oh, this crap started at our FCPS ELEMENTARY school! Thankfully our principal shut it down. Told parents that the delivery would be put in a fridge in the office and could be picked up at dismissal.

No. Nobody does this where we live.

Yes - kids at my MCPS high school did this and the office had to refuse delivery. I think kids got used to Door Dash while home during Covid. I know mine did.

In a middle school welcome email, there was a “reminder” (as in it has been said before and has been an issue) that the school cannot manage door dash and Uber orders and to not send food delivery to school.

Are parents doing this at your school? I can’t believe it. This isn’t even a private school or wealthy public. Most of the kids (>80%) qualify for free lunch.
