Lunchbots stainless, the little ramekins are really useful too. Although my rising first grader now tells me it’s too babyish to have a bento box and he just wants things loose in his lunch bag. Sigh.

I don't know how a Bentgo would get moldy if you washed it right away, but anyway my kids aged out of it around 2nd grade. I just use Easy Lunchboxes now (it's a brand EasyLunchbox) and use little silicone cups to divide things up. I insert a tiny little container for sauces/dips if needed. We send a thermos and a smaller container on days they want hot foods.

+1. We started with a Planetbox but DC wanted foods that were best kept warm-ish. The Omie works well for mac and cheese, soups, and chicken nuggets

DS somehow broke two Bentgo latches (Stainless steel Bentgo) in Pre-K. The company sent us a new box after the first break but after the second break we switched. We switched to Planetbox and have had good luck using it for over a year now.

Definitely don’t get the Target Cat and Jack ones. Fell apart before the end of the school year!

We upgraded to PlaentBox in 1st. Its held up great and is easily washable BUT it is heavy to carry and the compartments aren't completely sealed from one another. So if you have strawberries in one section and crackers in the next they will get soggy if you aren't careful. But I much prefer it to tons of little plastic containers and bags.

I put our bentgos in the dishwasher so I don’t get how they would get moldy.

So much useless extra weight to carry around.

I know you already had bentgo but Costco has them 2 for $24.

If it got moldy, you didn’t read the directions and clean it correctly. You have to pop the compartment piece out!

Yumbox for sure! My kids have had them for 4 years and they are still in great condition.

We had a bentgo brand, which was fine but it got moldy. It’s for a 1st grader so must be somewhat easy to open, easy to clean, dishwasher safe. She tends to take the same things for lunch day after day, so we don’t need a ton of variety.
