Subject: APS Communication from schools during summer
We received an email recently with important dates and letting us know when teacher assignments will be sent.

Hardly any at the elementary level. You’ll get your child’s teacher assignment the week before school starts with info about what day/time for open house. It’s typically the Wednesday or Thursday before school starts. Join the school Facebook page (usually one for the school and one for the PTA).

Nearly everything in APS depends on the school. In many ways they're allowed to do whatever they want and do. It's all principal discretion.

I’ve found the amount of communication varies widely by school/

A lot more will be coming out in the week or two before school starts.
You can also sign up for the PTA email list. Or follow on social media. Sometimes they send out info about the start of school or even schedule events.

We are new to the area. What type of communication do elementary schools send to families during the summer? Just wondering what to expect since we haven’t received any after we registered our kids. Thanks
