What is your intent in monitoring heart rate? Im guessing it's not accurate for youth because young people have high max heart rates that would be abnormal for adults. Also outside of the range of the watch. I've put mine on my kids and it registers in the 200s for jogging.

college intake physical had inconclusive EKG. kid says it's "fine, don't worry about it." and while I completely trust whatever care is provided by the university, they've only been an athlete there for a week, thus far. And, as you know, once a kid is out of your house and over 18, there's not a lot you can do to force medical treatment from hundreds of miles away. I just wanted to ask if the Apple Watch was giving their athletic teens inaccurate readings or if the Apple Watch disclosure is just a legal requirement about medical tech and so forth.

What are your concerns? Apple watch can detect irregular heart rhythms but you shouldn't rely on a watch for this without guidance from a crdiologist.

Are you concerned about heart rate or their heart rate? If there is a specific concern, talk to your cardiologist. My kid wears a garmin for runs and likes it, but they aren't drilling into the HR details. You can look into woop because that can be worn during sports, but it's not the most accurate

We are considering some kind of wearable heart rate monitoring for our 18yo college athlete such as the Apple Watch. While they cannot wear it during official team practices and performances, I'm concerned about heart health generally. The official disclosures on the Apple Watch description reads that ECG monitoring is not intended for anyone under the age of 22. Have other teen athletes worn the watch for heart monitoring and does their relative youth and what I can only assume is elevated fitness level mean the data will not be accurate? My watch is an older model with just basic fitness monitoring.
