OP back here - I agree about paying for the newspaper. But I feel guilty when I have to recycle them and many weekdays where we can’t get past the front page.

Those of you who do get the weekly, what kind of stories do they do?

This is honestly so true, and I wish more people cared. There are huge swaths of this country that no longer have any real kind of local journalism, and no one keeping local government honest as a result. It’s not good for democracy.

That's how I feel too. I can't manage all the paper that comes with daily delivery but I've had a Sundays-only + digital subscription for a while. I used to figure that the Post magazine and the coupons were plenty of value to make it worth it. Now, I still get Sundays-only even though there's no more print magazine and I stopped clipping paper coupons when I started to do practically all my shopping for groceries and household products online. I like having a newspaper in the house that everyone can share and maybe someday my kids will pick it up for more than just occasionally for the comics.

I just pay for basic WaPo and NYT digital subscriptions, even though I don't like the added screen time, just because the papers are an added thing I need to recycle, I don't like how they fold, and how the ink sometimes gets on stuff. Petty, I know.

We used to get daily newspaper but stopped as sometimes we didn’t have time to read during week days. Digital access is cheap but I really don’t want more screen time. As kids get older, I really hope to read on weekends for current events and long form articles.

I do digital otherwise I would never read it and might get buried in papers. I understand the appeal.

We subscribed to the Sunday/weekend paper and digital for years. In an effort to get away from screens, we have recently started daily paper delivery. We're kinda drowning in paper but we'll figure this out.

I used to but it got too expensive. Plus they charged me without permission for several months and I didn’t catch it. When I did they refused to reimburse and it was at the full price rate.
If they offered a deal again for a year I probably would, but at the rate I’ve been seeing the last couple of years, no.
