Yes, if they meet all of the qualifications - no savings, only own 1 home, no one else in the house, etc If you apply now, you won't hear until the end of the year - they take forever to process.

Does anyone have first hand experience on how the Maryland homeowners’ tax credit actually plays out for qualifying low income people? I called the office but was unable to get any helpful information whatsoever. For example, the website, which still shows 2021 income limits, says that someone who makes $24,000 a year has a property tax limit of $1,140 a year. Does this mean that my qualifying parent making this amount of yearly income is only responsible for paying $1,140 a year for their property tax and the rest will be forgiven? In this example, let’s say their yearly property tax assessed is $2,000. Anyone with real world experience on this program please let me know how this works. Thank you for your help.
