The hospital and our pediatrician during follow up care reported it to CPS. First they asked me, but also said if they didn’t and I did not I would also be part of the child negligence incident.

It was reported multiple times and MoCo COS never did a wellness check or talk to me nor him. When the concerned pediatrician called again CPS said they were too busy with more pressing cases.

So don’t worry. They don’t do anything. If you want action, get a protective order.

Next time (hopefully there is no next time) get a police report. The DA follows up. -person who did

Op that’s my thinking hopefully because my child has heard my spouse call me pretty names and yell at me. Whether the relationship is worth it is clearly a different story but in my view that’s in no way child abuse

Dp. Why would you think the therapist would think it’s child abuse?

OP because I read that some laws consider exposure to domestic violence is child abuse and emotional violence is consistered domestic violence.

They mean watching your step father hit your mother with a 2x4 (which happened to someone I know growing up).

Don’t be an idiot. CPS does not have time for crap like this. There are children being hit, raped and starved.

Anonymous wrote:No, that doesn't even come close. It's not even clear what you're experiencing is "emotional abuse." There's a pretty high bar for that -- yelling and name calling doesn't necessarily rate.

OP I think so too but I inadvertently called it emotional abuse because he tells me terrible things mostly behind closed doors but my child has heard name calling and yelling.

OP If I ask though, maybe he has enough evidence to suspect and therefore reports?

I told my therapist I think my spouse is emotionally abusives towards me, yells and calls me names. Can that be considered for mandatory reporting if our young child has heard him do that because it could be argued that the child is impacted? No yelling or names at said child just at me but my therapist raised his eyebrows so wanted to confirm. I don’t think this warrants a call with CPS because I thought the whole purpose of therapy is I can get help for these issues for me as long as they are not directed at my child? But now I am panicking.
