Definitely on the high end, but as PPs who seem to actually know the area a bit have said, not way beyond the norm for a big, new construction home with a high Walkscore. Not everyone avoids the public schools in that part of the county, and lots of people who have kids at well-regarded Catholic schools nearby or somewhere like Friends Community School would be happy to live there, especially if they work at UMD.

Over a million in PG isn't the norm but for a large, newer home it isn't crazy. A quick Redfin search showed 56 homes sold for over $1 million in the last 6 months.
350 homes sold for over $700K.
PG is still the most affordable county in the DMV but it isn't uniformly cheap.

PG extends to more than Hyattsville, Mt. Rainer etc. where homes are definitely north of $700k.

I live in PG. Many of the houses around us are over 700K.

I mean, it's 3300 sq ft, 5 bedrooms, and appears to be brand new. If it were in Bethesda, it would cost twice that. Even in a less expensive area, a large, new build is going to cost you a premium. There are lots of million dollar homes in Baltimore, for instance -- they are either huge or very nice or both. If you want something like that for less than 800k, you have to leave the DMV altogether.
