Definitely not. On the plus side, I'm sure my mother hasn't been able to do this since her 30s and she's very mobile and active—just not sitting on the floor for kicks—at 85.

Here's an article that explains why it might be important. https://www.prevention.com/fitness/fitness-tips/a20440531/the-stand-sit-test-that-predicts-longevity/

Here's the study referenced in the article in case you're interested:
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23242910/
Participants were placed in the top scoring group even if they used one hand on both the way down and up. It's not clear how many participants were able to get down/up without any hands. Thus, if you could do it with a one hand assist, you're doing well!

Yes, easily. 50, female

I’m soft these days, but have practiced yoga for 25 years.

Nope. And it's difficult enough that I try not to have to do it around other people lest I be embarrassed.

Yes I can, quite easily. I’m 43 and a little overweight but otherwise I feel healthy and I’m active everyday.

Can sort of do it. This article is a good explainer on why it’s important.

Noo!! I'm 52 and overweight but really want to work on myself. I'm going to make this my long term goal. I have a few shot term goals that I hope get me there.

pp back to clarify that I could initially do it when I first read about it. Have been practicing so I don't lose ability.

I can. Once I read about it being predictive, I've been practicing. I'm 50, and not very fit (though trying to improve).

Without hands yeah but not without taking a knee first.

I'm 49 and it took me several attempts to do this. Is this easy for anyone? Should I be worried if I ultimately was able to do this on my 3rd attempt. I'm otherwise in good health. Normal BMI, walk everyday, workout 3 times a week....
