yes, and it is expensive. Either one team would have to shoulder the expense or teams/swimmers would have to pay a significant portion to participate.

And yes, indoor meets have a much different feel/atmosphere from outdoor meets.

OP, now is your chance to showcase your home pool with tons of shade, plentiful parking for an entire league, an abundance of volunteers, and a dedication to spend hours and hours planning before (and on) the big day!

We can't wait to see you at 2024 All Stars!

And after OP’s pool manages to pull off great weather, ideal shade, and plentiful parking, people are STILL going to complain. This time it’ll just be about that pool instead of WA.

Parking was ok. DD didn't swim, but we went to support the team and got there at 8:30 just as the meet was starting. We parked on the street about .2 miles away with no issue.

We have been in PMSL for 10y and have been to many pools in the area. I can only think of one pool that has good natural shade for spectators (PG Pool.) Most pools don't have shade nearby to keep the debris out of the pool/deck area. We always use a tent.

I agree!

That was a HUGE task for WA. I happen to know how hard they worked to pull that off, and I’m filled with nothing but appreciation to the people who volunteered. (Keep in mind, OP, that they stepped up and volunteered to do this. Don’t like it? Then you can also volunteer.)

This swim family is appreciative, WA. Thank you for hosting.

OP, get over yourself. This is summer swim. The pool facilities vary greatly- they are almost all outdoor community pools.. The organizations are run by volunteers.

All great points. I can’t imagine most pools would have parking lots that could accommodate such a big event. That would seem wasteful of land. This was my first season doing a swim team and could see how hosting such a big meet would require a tremendous amount of work. Very appreciative to the WA families and volunteers who made the all-star event happen.

There are many pools in PMSL that have much better facilities and better viewing. The league should plan for oppressively hot and pick a host pool with a lot of trees. It's July.

Weren’t too told to take shade tents by your team?
It’s outdated for sure but it’s a nice pool as far as space goes.

Of course we took shade tents, but having natural shade cools the entire grounds down and WA has very little. The grounds were very overcrowded. And the bathrooms are tiny and disgusting. The line for the women’s room was about 20 people deep.

I don’t agree that it’s a nice pool. There is a tiny viewing area. Kids were slipping in the backstroke on both ends of the pool because of the walls.

Also, no meet mobile at a championship meet?

That meet was horrible. Limited parking. No shade. Weirdly pulling kids out of their events. The announcer was impossible to hear. I get that they run the league but come on …
