Box springs are needed if you buy an innerspring mattress. Most people don’t buy that kind of mattress anymore so you don’t need box springs. I still buy that kind of mattress so I have box springs.

I think it's ridiculous to worry about whether or not your BED is fashionable. How many people are seeing your bed OP?

Sorry if this sounded snarky. I think your question is a good one and I went and did a google image search for "house beautiful bedrooms" and lots of them have bedskirts (although I didn't filter for date). There are just fewer than before because there are a lot of beds with no box spring or beds that cover up the box spring.

The combination of old style mattresses and beds did need box springs. One of our beds is an antique bed with slats and it has a box spring and wouldn’t really work without it.

No they are not "out."

People get platform beds that don't require a bed spring. We actually considered getting a "low profile" box spring the last time we bought a mattress, but it just would have raised the mattress comically high off the bed -- we would have needed a step stool to get into it. So we just do a mattress over slats.

Do what you want though. It's your house. My mom still has bedskirts on all her beds. It's not my style but it looks nice in her house and it's what she prefers.

We don't have those. We have wooden slat bedframes and mattresses. Not sure why you need the box spring.

Kids are allergic to dust mites, so we don't have them. But you can decorate however you want.

It is just considered old fashioned and traditional. You still see them in very expensive homes with expensive decoration, but it is not a trending in style look, it is traditional.

Modern beds don’t seem to have a box spring. We do, so we have a clean, white bed skirt with no embellishments.

Who even sees your bedroom? Decorate how you want.

When we had a boxspring, I used a boxspring cover.

Just as the title asks, "Are ALL bedskirts out? Even clean looking tailored ones?" Do no one use these anymore? What do you use to cover your box springs if you have them?
