In my 40s I took group lessons at Univ of MD /College Park. Only 4-5 in the group. I then took one private lesson. I loved both.

Where are you and what pools do you have access to? I learned to swim with private lessons at George Mason's pool, although it was a good 5 years ago now. It was great though.

I am 39 and completed my first swim lesson a few days ago. I am enrolled in private lessons at SafeSplash Swim School (www.safesplash.com). There are many locations from which to choose. The private lessons at my location are $100 per week and the price is worth it because I have the instructor's full attention. I am not sure of the price for groups lessons.

I don’t know how to swim. I would like to learn and make swimming part of exercise routine. I am 52. I would appreciate recs for instructors. Thank you.
