I feel terrible for her parents having to know he’s now free. That is all.

That trial was a travesty. His defense made zero sense, and he clearly lied. She didn’t die because he hit her in the throat. She was strangled over three minutes and fought like hell for her life. He was substantial in size, she was tiny etc. Jurors were swayed by his good looks and sexism, that’s it.

The good news is that he will very likely end up back in jail. He served the full original sentence because of his dozens of serious infractions. He didn’t take opportunities to better himself, is sociopathic and not a functional human being.

Other good news is that he cannot profit from the crime due to the civil suit brought by Jennifer’s parents.

I think he served fifteen years for the murder and another fifteen years for drug offenses. He basically spent the last thirty out of thirty-two years incarcerated.

I remember the poor Jennifer Levin murder. He really did try to smear her and labeled her a whore who was into pinky sex. I don’t know if that was the reason he was given such a lenient plea deal, or if it was because he was rich and good looking. I’m just glad he was made to do the maximum 15 years and not the minimum five years of the agreed upon sentence.

He actually was not rich at all. His mom was a nurse and a striver who worked hard to get him with the right people.
I was in HS in NYC at the time of the murder and it was a huge huge huge deal.

So you think we should be able to keep retrying people until we get a decision you like? I don't really see how this could be abused.
