I cannot imagine wanting to do all that alone though. It’s so exhausting and demanding.

I think this is amazing— good luck to you and I foresee your kid being awesome.
I have an incredible husband, and we have a wonderful toddler, but if something were to happen to him I would absolutely use donor sperm to give my daughter a sibling and I would *never* share custody with a man for any reason.

I don’t think it’s due to finances. More and more women want to have kids with no man. The number of spiritual/emotional lesbians is exploding.
My theory is the introduction of “free love” curdled the relations between the sexes and it’s more of the norm for women to have an explicit hatred of men, rather than the exception.

Agree with all of this. But the world is overpopulated and I really don’t care about grandchildren either way.

That is so true: I'm 45 and met a LOT of men in early-mid 40s who want to get married and appear totally normal on surface. Yet no woman married them.

Women are outpacing men in higher education and, sometimes, career, so have other options for financial security besides marriage. A man has to bring more than a paycheck to the table to be worth it.
