Did anyone go? I would have liked to see Rebecca Makkai and Kevin Wilson (loved Now Is Not The Time To Panic) but couldn’t get motivated.

Bathroom access for people with disabilities when it was on the mall was problematic.

I loved it on the Mall. I don’t think the switch had anything to do with disabilities (and there were plenty of people with disabilities when it was on the mall, which arguably was better for many disabilities since it was less crowded). I think the issue was the grass recovery on the mall. It used to be my favorite event with the kids every year and the PBS tent was just awesome.

Agreed. But when I voiced this opinion, it was pointed out to me that putting it in the convention center makes it more accessible to people with physical disabilities.

Agree. The weather was always an issue but I liked it better on the Mall.

The Convention Center looks pretty booked for September. Maybe one of those organizations booked it years in advance for their annual meeting?

Or maybe the organizers thought that with so many people coming to DC for vacation in the summer it would attract even more people?

Dunno but I defintely noticed the date change.

Way more DC locals plan vacation in early/mid August than in September. We always look forward to going, and can't go this year.

We've gone for years and are annoyed it moved to August. Anyone have any insight into the rationale for the switch?
